A Topeka That Works for Families and Small Businesses
Topeka is a place where families put down roots, small businesses build dreams, and neighborhoods shape the next generation. But too often, people feel like the choices shaping our future are made without them. Housing is becoming harder to afford, public safety remains a concern, and it’s not always easy to see where our tax dollars are making a difference.
That’s why I’m running for City Council - District 1.
Every family deserves to live in a neighborhood where they feel safe, valued, and supported. Every small business should have the opportunity to grow without unnecessary barriers. Every person should feel like they have a say in the direction of their city.
Good Government Starts With Listening
Too often, people feel like government decisions happen behind closed doors. The truth is, in a city like Topeka, the biggest decisions often come down to who shows up and who speaks up. That’s why my focus will always be on making government accessible, transparent, and responsive to the people it serves.
I don’t believe in rushing to make big changes just for the sake of it. I believe in thoughtful, well-researched leadership—leadership that listens to the people first and acts with purpose.
That’s the approach I will take to every issue, whether it’s long-term city planning, public safety, or how we spend taxpayer dollars. My goal is to make sure every resident of District 1 feels heard and sees real progress in their neighborhoods.
My Platform
I have spent my career working in state and local government, and I’ve seen firsthand how thoughtful, steady leadership can make a real impact. I believe Topeka’s best days are ahead of us—if we are willing to work together and make smart, lasting investments in our future.

Affordable Housing
Housing costs are rising, forcing families out of the neighborhoods they love. As Chair of the Topeka Planning Commission, I have worked to remove red tape that drive up costs.
On City Council, I will:
-
Expand attainable housing through smart zoning reforms and incentives.
-
Balance new development with the needs of existing residents.
-
Ensure homeowners and renters can afford to stay in their communities.

Public Safety
Safety is more than policing—it’s about prevention, trust, and the right resources.
As a City Council member, I will:
-
Invest in crime prevention that tackles root causes.
-
Strengthen emergency response services.
-
Build community trust with law enforcement for safer neighborhoods.

Small Business
Topeka should be a place where people choose to stay and build their future.
As a City Council member, I will:
-
Improve roads and public spaces.
-
Make it easier for small businesses to grow.
-
Support projects that make Topeka a great place to live, work, and visit.
